TITLE:  Data Engineer
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA (remote, but could transition to hybrid this year)
POSITION TYPE: Direct Hire

Data Engineer Responsibilities:

• Design and develop methods to process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data using batch and real-time processing techniques
• Deliver fast, reliable, and scalable data pipelines from files or streaming sources like Kafka, DBMS, and NoSQL
• Develop release pipelines to automate tasks such as build packaging, version control, and deployment to DV/UA environments
• Build and maintain reusable templates, code libraries, pipeline patterns, and semantic models
• Establish gatekeeping processes to monitor and control promotion of data processes into production environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data, business, and technical stakeholders, as well as product owners/managers
• Advocate data reusability through modular data product delivery strategies
• Ensure data reliability by defining and monitoring data quality and integrity controls within pipelines
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to less experienced data engineers
• Optimize performance through appropriate cluster usage to parallelize jobs and minimize data movement
• Recommend improvements in process, technology, and interfaces to enhance team productivity
• Engage in Enterprise Social Networking platforms to stay informed on new data technologies and best practices

Data Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, CIS, Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Proven knowledge of data engineering, data integration, and data science principles
• 6+ years of relevant experience in data-driven, tech-enabled environments
• Working experience with batch and real-time data processing frameworks
• Proficient in data modeling, schema design, and data storage techniques
• Experience with data quality tools and implementing data integrity controls
• Capable of creating functional and technical designs for data engineering and analytics solutions
• Experience implementing data models across diverse source types

Data Engineer Preferred Experience:

• Hands-on with big data technologies such as Hadoop, HIVE, and Spark
• Experience developing and supporting Python-based AI/ML solutions
• 6+ years with on-premises tools: Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS/SSAS/SSRS), Informatica, Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server, and Oracle
• 3+ years with Microsoft cloud tools: Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Key Vault, Power BI
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, OpenShift), Agile/DevOps, CI/CD practices
• Experience with APIs, web services, and tools like Kafka and Jira
