On-Camera Meteorologist – Regional Weather Project
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid – Onsite Required)
Type: W2 Contract (Through End of 2025)
Pay Range: $25–$50/hr (Based on Experience)

Overview:
Our client is seeking On-Camera Meteorologists for a regional weather broadcast initiative based out of Atlanta. This is a W2 contract role through the end of the year with a hybrid work model requiring onsite presence. In this position, you'll deliver both live and pre-recorded weather segments for regional markets across the U.S. while also supporting the creation of visually engaging weather content using professional broadcast tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Tape Preparation

• Stay up to date on current weather conditions, forecasts, and available content assets.

• Collaborate with producer/editors to create and refresh multiple daily forecasts for various U.S. markets.

• Use platforms such as WSI TruVu Max to develop on-air weather graphics and prepare all relevant content.

• Proof and adjust weather graphics to ensure clarity, accuracy, and a consistent personal tone.

• Maintain a polished, camera-ready appearance aligned with company grooming and attire standards.

On-Air Presentation

• Present weather content with authority, professionalism, and clarity.

• Demonstrate strong articulation and effective communication tailored to diverse audiences.

• Deliver engaging, empathetic presentations with enthusiasm and credibility.

• Explain weather patterns using simple, relatable terms with smooth transitions and clear visuals.

• Accurately pronounce geographic names and maintain composure across a range of weather scenarios.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; a background in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science preferred.

• Previous experience in live and taped weather presentation; experience with WSI TruVu Max strongly preferred.

• Willingness to relocate to Atlanta and work a hybrid schedule.

• Flexible availability, including weekends and extended hours during significant weather events.

Skills & Competencies

• Local reporting experience is a plus.

• Strong track record in covering severe weather across all seasons.

• Skilled in using broadcast meteorology and interactive technology tools.

• Detail-oriented and able to perform under pressure in fast-paced environments.

• Strong team collaboration and communication skills.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
